A lil’ old lady in our neighborhood decided she would help the children of the area become interested in reading. She wondered how she could accomplish this. At first, she thought of buying a few books and distributing them to the local children but she realized she could not afford to buy so many books. She only had a few books herself and they weren’t enough for all the kids. A brilliant idea came to her one day! Why not ask all the neighbors to make a list of all the books they owned. She put up a message at the local bus stop with her address requesting that everyone send a list of titles and authors to her. After a month she had a long list of books. Many books were listed with the title, author and the name and address of the person who owned it. She then invited every child to come to her home whenever they pleased. If a child liked the title of a book she would give the child the address of the person who owned that particular book. The child could then go to the address and ask to borrow the book. This quickly caught on and soon the entire village was swapping books. Many children learned to read and even write there own stories which they shared the same way. One day a big expensive car arrived at the door of the lil’ old lady and out stepped a very well dressed man carrying a briefcase. He was also accompanied by two armed guards. The smart dressed man rang the doorbell and the old lady opened the door. Immediately the man opened up his brief case and gave the old lady a document. He quickly blurted out some legal mumbo jumbo and before the old lady could figure out what was going on the two guards arrested her, handcuffed her, and she was quickly escorted away never to be seen again. The children cried that she was gone. They had learned so much and had so much fun swapping books and stories. The parents explained to the poor children that the old lady was really a very very bad person, she was a PIRATE! They said she was stealing books and giving them away. The children cried, they didn’t understand…..

You couldn’t be more wrong! First of all - All what big Softwarecompanies do is PIRATING IDEAS - THEN GET A PATENT TO PROTECT IT BEING PIRATED BY THEIR CONCURRENCE !!1!
If it werent for pirates you wouldnt even be able to write that kind of comment - The Web would still be known as ARPANET & you would never even heard of it.
If there where no piracy The Web would still be 0.1beta and HTML the state of the art - Cause NOT ONE of the young creative heads would have had acces to overexpensive webdevelopment-tools.
Your favorite Band would not exist - cause nobody would have had acces to 20000$ Music-Editing-Software.
Just think of all the Creativity that would never had a chance to exist without piracy.
Dont fall to the lies of the ContentMafia
They said Vinyl would kill music - They made more money with it
They said Musiccassetes Would kill Music - They made more money with it
They said thge VHS will kill movies - They made more money with it
(insert technology here) will kill (insert content here) - They will make more money with it
BTW - Who sells MP3-Players and all the technology evolving from it? Same People - ContentMafia.
Look at what even a BIGTIME Pop-Newcomer Band earns - ContentMafia takes 85% of recordsale income
lol FOR PR lol
What is left for a 3 head Band is 20k$ a year - what in most western countrys qualifies you as P O O R.
The only Money made by Bands is by touring - Been like that for decades, ask any1 in the business.
If the Content has a sertain level of Quality it will find a very supportive Fanbase - there will be merchandise.
Only damage done by piracy is caused by the ContentMafia trying to protect their turf.
Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SaFTm2bcac&feature=player_embedded
Whos the pirate now?
Pirating has one silver booty lining and that is to provide education and tools to those who can’t afford them.
Lets fast forward to the year 2040. You are a pirate grandparent and you have pirate grand children.
A future where three generations of pirates exist, but the stuff left to pirate is garbage. In this future people stopped creating quality software, detailed textbooks and blockbuster movies because there was no motivation to work for free. Eventually any product has to be paid for in advance by millions of people before it is released or work even begins.

I feel genuinely sorry for people who can’t imagine any motivation to create except money. Do they really think that the best music, art, literature, film, etc., came from someone’s greed? These things come from people who would be driven to create whether or not they’d be getting paid; people with talent and passion are tough to stop. Think about the things that get made because someone just wants to make a buck — are they really “quality”? Would the world really be such an awful place without reality TV, bland ro-coms and bro-coms, and autotuned pop albums? What about the useless crapware people install to get their cameras, scanners, et al to work, then never use because they already HAVE programs to organize and edit pictures? Textbooks where the only updates each year for the last thirty years have been to the details and order of the exercise questions, so that students have to shell out $150 for a new one instead of buying last year’s second hand (textbook co.’s hate trees)? These are the kinds of projects people won’t work for unless they’re paid to. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

I very much like the 1984 embassy and scratched out words replaced with newspeak. Very well done.
Long live the piratebay….and then you sell yourselves and go legit? I’m so confused.
Calm down, We are stronger than ever, Piracy will live on 4 ever.
HO HO HO!
First off, props to TPB.
Secondly, FUCK M$, they cant even put together a decent OS and then they try to limit the amount of times you can re-install shit software that you paid a fucking arm for… Bill Gates is the fuckin’ anti-christ!
Pirate everything you can, the software companies will cave in soon enough. Happy Pirating my fellow buccaneers!
